Benson, NC: Mr. Charles Ralph Ryals, age 76, of West Johnson Road passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held-2:00PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Thomas Collings and Charles A. Lindquist, Jr. Burial will follow in Hannah Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC with Masonic and Military Rites.
Mr. Ryals was born on December 22, 1947 in Harnett County to the late William Charles and Mary Lois Tart Ryals. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Ryals Moore and his brother, John Robert Ryals, Sr. He was a proud US Army National Guard Veteran before pursuing his dream of being a North Carolina State Highway Patrolman. Mr. Ryals also enjoyed operating heavy machinery which led him to own and operate Charles R. Ryals Grading Company Incorporated after retiring from being a Trooper. He was a member of the Benson American Legion Banner Post 109 and the American Legion Riders. Mr. Ryals loved taking road trips on his motorcycle to the North Carolina Mountains, where he would ride the parkway all day long. He enjoyed everything he experienced in life but most of all he loved to spend time with all of his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pam N. Ryals; children, Charles Kevin Ryals of Benson, Kelly Lynn Ryals and wife, Susan of Benson, Leah R. McLamb and husband, Eric of Benson, Sarah R. Lassiter and husband, Sam of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Katie Eatman and husband, Austin, Christopher Ryals and wife, Hannah, Savannah Ryals, Brooke Ryals and fiancé, Julia, Logan Ryals, Carson Ryals, Laynah McLamb, Sklyar McLamb, Annie Lassiter and Charlotte Lassiter; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
