Charles Ray Strickland

Princeton, NC – Charles Ray Strickland, age 70, died March 16, 2026 in Columbia, South Carolina. Born June 19, 1955 in Johnston County to the late William Lester and Hazel Collins Strickland, he was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Trenton Ray Strickland.
Charles graduated from Princeton High School in 1973, where he was active in the Future Farmers of America. Following high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served until his retirement in 1993. Afterwards, Charles returned to Goldsboro where he owned businesses and taught at Wayne Community College. He had a passion for fishing and building models of classic cars and airplanes.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Strickland of Dazell, South Carolina; son, Jeremy Strickland Sr. of Anchorage, Alaska; son Jeffery Alejandro and wife Ann of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Samantha and Jeremy Strickland Jr. of Alaska; grandsons Jeffery Ashton and Mason Alejandro of Georgia; step-daughter, Whitney of Florida; and step-grandsons Ryland and River.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm on Saturday, May 30 in the Chapel at Evergreen Memorial Service Funeral Home, located at 3888 US-70 West, Princeton, NC 27569. Memorial service will begin at 3:00pm.
