Benson, NC: Mr. Charlie “Thomas” Smith, age 71 of Jada Allen Road went Home on Friday, February 4, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Ammons’ Family Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Smith was born on July 11, 1950 in Wake County to the late William Charlie and Geraldine Edwards Smith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Lanier. Mr. Smith was a drywall contractor and owned and operated Smith and Johnson Drywall.
Surviving include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Ammons Smith; children, Cynthia Matthews and husband, Jerry, Frankie Smith and wife, Kathy, Sydney Thornton and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Amber Brunson and husband, Andre, Shea West and husband, Mark, Summer Pounds, Mackenzie Smith, Jaxon Thornton, Tiffany Brooks; great-grandchildren, Luke, Levi, Skylar, Emma, and Macey; brother, Kenneth Smith.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
In accordance with the NC COVID 19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines. Masks are not required for all services but kindly recommended.
