Princeton – Connie Lee Fowler, age 65, passed away at her home on December 18, 2022. She was born in Smithfield (Johnston County) on October 22, 1957 to the late Joseph and Susan Fowler.
Connie grew up in Knightdale, NC. Following high school, she attended college at UNC-Greensboro where she received her BS degree in History. She remained in Greensboro and was employed as a skilled equipment technician and troubleshooter at Proctor and Gamble for approximately 10 years. Subsequently, she was employed by Walmart for over 20 years – first as a Safety Manager at the store in Randleman. A favorite part of her position there included planning special charitable events involving the community. Approximately 10 years ago Connie transferred to Walmart in Goldsboro and relocated to Princeton so she could be a companion and caregiver for her mother.
Connie was a very talented artist. She worked hard to perfect her talent and sold some of her paintings but preferred gifting them to family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, reading, country music, and all things related to history. Throughout her life she spent much of her spare time researching and documenting her family ancestry. Above all things, Connie’s greatest joy was found in time spent with her family, her friends, and her cats.
Connie is survived by her sisters Peggy Degler (Ed) of Wake Forest, Teresa Pergerson (Kenny) of Wake Forest, and Susan Jones of Princeton as well as a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored, and her beloved cats.
