Princeton – Curtis Allan Lee, 60, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County on June 4, 1962, he was the son of the late Charles Bernard Lee and Iris Little Lee Gurley. In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lee.
Curtis is survived by his daughter, Christina Stanley (Jason); grandchildren, Savannah LeAnne Stanley and Bridget Stanley; sister, Delores “Dee” Lee; and several friends, church family and cousins he loved very much.
In his younger years, Curtis was active with the Boy Scouts of America. There he learned valuable skills to take into adulthood. He was also known for his athleticism. He was a star athlete in football at Princeton High School.
Curtis worked for many years as a mechanic with Danny’s Car Care. He enjoyed being outdoors no matter the activity. He took great joy in searching for Native American artifacts and relished in a great find. Curtis loved visiting the mountains, especially if hiking or fishing were involved. He also appreciated a beautiful day that allowed him to take to the open road on his motorcycle.
Curtis was a dedicated and faithful member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. His service to the Lord included his participation in the M-25 and Judgement House ministries. He will be remembered for his easygoing, free spirit and for his unique sense of humor.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service to celebrate Curtis’ life at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Curtis’ friends and family that offered so much help in recent months: Raeford Woodall, Lynn McCoy, and Pat Anderson.
