Curtis George Simmons, age 78, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at his home in Clayton. Born in Carteret County, on February 22, 1946, he was a son to the late Sam Simmons and Pearl Prescott Simmons.
Curtis was a proud United States Navy Veteran and retired from the state working with the Division of Highways. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports, washing his truck, watching a good western movie, and spending time with his loving partner of 41 years, Kathy Smith.
A graveside service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Florda Smith.
Curtis is survived by his partner, Kathy Smith; sister, Brenda Smith; and nephews, Ben and Jeff Smith.
