Danny Barbour

Steven Dandridge “Danny” Barbour, age 71 of Four Oaks, NC, passed away on December 31, 2025. Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Pauline Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC.
Danny was born on May 2, 1954, in Johnston County to Eugene Pershing and Mary Erma Rhodes Barbour. Danny worked as a paramedic for Durham County General Hospital for 15 years, where he dedicated himself to helping others and serving his community. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his humor and storytelling filled rooms with laughter. He also proudly served as the “self-appointed” and lifelong protector of the 100-year-old family pecan tree. He defended it fiercely against squirrels and mother nature alike – a role he took far more seriously than anyone else.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene Barbour and Don Barbour, as well as Gene’s wife, Dixie. He is survived by his nieces Tammy Liles husband David, Pam Creech, Crystal Keener husband Bucky; nephew Jody Barbour; his great nephews Braxton Creech and Gus Keener, and great nieces Olive Keener, Charlie Keener and Emily Barbour. He is also survived by many cousins and dear friends, Bobby and Kim Johnson, Danny and Joann Rhodes, Larry and Lynn Rhodes.
Flowers are appreciated; however, memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of your choice. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
Arrangements are by Rose and Graham Funeral Home, located in Four Oaks, NC.
