Danny Layton Worley

Danny Layton Worley

Danny Layton Worley, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, at O’Berry Center of Goldsboro. Danny was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, on December 19, 1959, to Roger Layton Worley and the late Barbara Hartley Worley.

Danny had a big personality, never met a stranger, and knew everybody. He was happiest when he was “trucking tobacco” on the farm with his straw hat, Coca-Cola, and his Little Debbie snack cake. He loved going to church, Southern Gospel music, Chick-Fil-A, Food Lion birthday cakes, and Christmas. He was a client of JCI in Selma for almost 45 years.

In addition to his father, Danny is survived by his brothers, Wayne Worley and wife Denise of Princeton, Scott Worley and wife Diane of Princeton; nephews, Ryan Worley and wife Maryssa of Goldsboro, Collin Worley and Connor Worley, both of Smithfield; and great-niece, Evelyn Grace Worley.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Parrish Funeral Home. The service will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel at Parrish Funeral Home. The Rev. Percy Hartley, Danny’s uncle, will officiate. Committal service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Princeton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Danny to O’Berry Center, Operation Santa, Attn: Angela Finley, 400 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530. Monies are used to purchase Christmas gifts for O’Berry residents who do not have family or a sponsor.
