Selma- Dawn Marie Harshfield Portzer, age 53, died on Monday, February 21st, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born on November 19th, 1968 in Joliet, Illinois, she was daughter to the late Keith Harshfield Jr. and Susan Terlep Harshfield.
Dawn graduated from Joliet West High School in the class of 1986, and was also a part of the Shorewood Soccer League growing up. She was a member of Princeton Baptist Church and served in their Awana program. She loved working with children and cared heavily about animals.
She is preceded in death by grandfather, Keith Harshfield Sr.; grandmother, Charlotte Porter Harshfield; grandfather, Edward M. Terlep; and grandmother, Ann Zupanzic Terlep.
Dawn is survived by her husband of 33 years, Matthew Portzer of Selma; son, Bradley Portzer of Selma; sister, Dana Harshfield of Selma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers are acceptable, but donations to the ASPCA, Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Susan G. Komen, or Cancer Research would be appreciated as well.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
