Donald Ray Benson, 73, of Princeton passed away at Lillington Universal Health Care on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. He was born on April 26, 1950 in Wayne County to the late Luby Benton, Jr. and Dora Lee Goodson Benton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sasser Benton; brother, Lynwood Ralph Benton; and sisters, Nora Adell Jones, and JoAnn Barfield.
Donald is survived by a son, Donald Benton of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Crystal Benton Marcum of Pikeville; brother, Thomas “Tommy” Ward Benton of Clayton; sisters, Georgia Elis Thornton of Goldsboro, Bertha Mae Lynch of Texas, and Betty Jennel Ross of Colorado; and four grandchildren, Kaitlynn Marcum, Garrett Marcum, Liam Benton and Ava Benton.
A Private Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations.
