Coats, NC: Mrs. Dorothy Louise Ball, age 93, of Brandon Lane passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at UNC Johnston Healthcare in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be held-3:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White. Burial will be held at a later date at Southwick Cemetery in Southwick, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Ball was born on July 12, 1930 in Hampden County, Massachusetts to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blakesley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Ball, Sr.; son, John T. Ball, Jr.; and her sisters. Prior to retirement, she managed department stores. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her son, Joe Ball and wife, Karen; daughter-in-law, Debbie Ball; grandchildren, Jodie Gough and husband, Michael, Jamie Ball and wife, Shannon, David Ball and wife, Terri, and Danny Ball and wife, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Alex Gough, Sam Gough, Lillie Gough, Jill Gough, Joey Ball, Madison Nees, Stephanie Akhtar, and Matthew Heckman; five great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
