Douglas Harold Durham

Douglas Harold Durham, 70, of Princeton passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. He was born in Johnston County on March 3, 1954, to the late Ralph Leon Durham and Beulah Aycock Durham. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Grant Durham, of nearly 51 years.

Doug Durham loved God, his family, friends, golf, all sports, and especially UNC Tarheel basketball. He worked for thirty years in sales, going door-to-door and using his charming personality to make strangers into customers and many into life-long friends. If you knew Doug, you know he was loyal to a fault; he would be there anytime he was needed to lend a helping hand. Although he would not eat his vegetables, he always said in his comical fashion, “I don’t have to eat greens; I want to live on greens,” as his Lane-Tree buddies can attest. Although not a comedian by trade, he was never without a joke, “Hey, Bo, have you heard the one about. . .?” He loved life and was known for his positive attitude and upbeat personality. He loved people with all of his being, and when you received a hug from him, you felt the love of God. May that love live on through each of us, honoring Doug’s memory.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Durham Weeks and husband, Curt; daughter, Lindzie Noel Durham and fiancé, Rey, and “grand-dog” Sammie; brother, Roger Durham and wife, Rosemary; nieces, Kim Jernigan and husband, Alex and Rhonda Deans and husband, Glenn.
