Edna Pearl Jackson, 80, of Newton Grove passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab in Dunn.
She was born on December 8, 1943 to the late Paul Melvin Joyner and Thelma Lee Bradford Joyner. Edna, and her late husband, Luby, owned Jackson Circle Mart in Newton Grove for many years. Afterwards, she worked with special needs adults in Sampson County. Edna loved spending time with her family, friends, and her church family. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, shopping, reading her bible, teaching Sunday school, visiting friends and singing in the church choir.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Luby Jackson Jr., brothers, Glenn and Delma Joyner, and sister, Lena Rose Strickland. Edna is loved and survived by her daughter, Rhonda West and husband, Gene of Newton Grove, her son William Jackson and wife, Jerrie of Whiteville; grandchildren, Matthew West and wife, Amie, Lorna Walker and husband, Erik, Wesley Jackson and wife, Elizabeth, Rachel West, Taylor Jackson; and great grandchildren, Dean and Lucas Walker, Colton West, and Jace Jackson; sister, Linda Daughtry and brothers, VJ and Kent Joyner.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 17th at 11:00AM at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery of Newton Grove. Visitation will be held after the service in the Unity fellowship hall.
The family will receive family and friends at the home of Gene and Rhonda West.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab Center, the staff of Cardinal Hospice and to the staff of Rolling Ridge for the excellent care Momma received during her stay.
