Edward “Slim” Alton Puryear, 87, of Princeton, passed away Sunday January 5, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House. Mr. Puryear was born December 1, 1937 in Wake County to the late Grover Lee and Carrie Lee Edmonds Puryear. He is preceded in death by his wife Margie Mitchell Puryear, son; Ricky Wayne Puryear, brothers; Lexton, Ray and Lindsey Puryear.
Due to pending inclement weather, the family has decided to change the time of the arrangements to receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, January 11th at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations in Princeton. The Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 11th in the Casey Funeral Home & Cremations Chapel with the Reverend Hollis Fedrick officiating.
Mr. Puryear is survived by his daughter; Janet Marie Puryear Coffey of Princeton, brothers; David Puryear of Knightdale, Roy Puryear of Garner sister; Martha Coates of Wendell, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
