Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Hinnant Creech Ward, age 75, of Ivey Road passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM- Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Pastor Dennis Pollock will officiate. Burial will follow in Price – Crocker Family Cemetery in Pine Level, NC.
Mrs. Ward was born on November 8, 1946 in Wilson County, NC to the late Cleveland and Naomi Evans Hinnant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton D. Ward; late father of her children, Thurman Creech, Sr., daughter, Clarkie Sue Creech, granddaughter, Elizabeth Beth Mitchell, great-grandson, Keagan T. Baker; sisters and brothers, Stanley Hinnant, Brenda Sauders, Bonnie Hood, and Jay Hinnant; brother-in-law, Linwood McCullen. Mrs. Ward worked in textiles and for Strickland’s Open-Air Market in Smithfield for 20 years.
Survivors include her children, Thurman R. Creech, Jr. and wife, Beverly of Smithfield, Herbert A. Creech and wife, Amy of Selma, Naomi C. Parker and husband, Garry of Four Oaks, David Baker, Jr. and wife, Angela of Middlesex; grandchildren, Melissa D. Baker, Newton D. Baker, Thurman R. Creech, III, Elizabeth N. Creech, Tiffany Creech; Brandy Mouser and husband, Thomas, April Creech, Hunter T. Parker, Heather Rose Parker, Logan Capps, and Bradley Braswell; twenty-five great-grandchildren; sister, Penny McCullen of Grantham; three step-daughters; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
