Kenly – Ellie Clara Johnson Jr. (JR), age 64, passed away Monday February 20, 2023 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. He was born in Johnston County on August 27, 1958 to the late Ellie Clara Johnson Sr. and Esther House Johnson. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Johnson.
The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday February 22, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held in Holly Springs OFWB Church Cemetery in Kenly on Thursday February 23, 2023 at 11 AM.
JR is survived by wife, Karen Johnson of the home; son, Jamie Johnson and wife Amanda of Kenly; step son, Tyler Peeden and fiancé Madison of Pikeville; step daughters, Elizabeth Barfield and husband Ronnie of Wilson; Jennifer Marriner and husband Brett of Goldsboro; sisters, Sandra Tant and husband Clyde of Zebulon; granddaughter, Destiny Johnson and fiancé Dayde of Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
JR was a member of the Bethany Fire Department for 40 years and watched Andrew Womack ministry program religiously.
