SELMA – Eric Daniel Barbee, age 46, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in Duke University
Hospital in Durham. Born, April 13, 1976, in Johnston County, he was a son of Danny Earl Barbee and
Bonnie Pearce Barbee.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kester and Frances Kornegay, maternal grandmother, Lucille Hinnant and his uncle Gene Kornegay.
Eric was an avid NASCAR fan and specifically loved drivers, Dale Earnhardt and later Dale Earnhardt Jr. He enjoyed watching T.V., specifically N.C.I.S. Eric enjoyed his trips to the beach and his stays at the Whaler Inn. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his nephew Gavin. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with a burial to follow in Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Brian Barbee and his wife Leslie Barbee of Pine Level, and his beloved nephew, Gavin Barbee of the home.
