Benson, NC: Mrs. Faye McGee Massengill, age 83, of 403 West Woodall Street, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2022 at Meadowview Assisted Living in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Benson Baptist Church in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Lawrence Powers. Burial will follow in the Blackmon’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.
Mrs. Massengill was born March 19, 1939 in Johnston County to the late Junius Guy and Eva McGee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill Massengill; sister, Doris McGee Cook; brothers, Eldridge McGee, Graham McGee, Billy McGee, and Danford McGee. Mrs. Massengill retired from the State of North Carolina and was a member of Benson Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Banner Post 109 Ladies Auxiliary in Benson where; she served as President from 1976-1977 and as Chaplain.
Surviving include her daughters, Sherry M. Dixon and husband, Michael and Sheila Massengill all of Benson; grandchildren, Tara Dixon, Kristin Dixon, Candace Mewborn and Faith Massengill; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Olivia, Ella, Elijah, Charlee and Zayne; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:00PM-1:45PM Sunday, September 25, 2022 prior to the service at Benson Baptist Church in Benson and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association, 5171 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
