Floyd Dennis “Hambone” Bridgers

Floyd Dennis (Hambone) Bridgers, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was the son of the late Joseph and Bessie Bridgers.

Hambone worked at Ralston Purina in Wilson for 37 years. He was married to the late Joyce Keen Bridgers for 59 years.

Hambone loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He was always “ready to go catch one.”

Hambone is survived by his children, Ricky Bridgers (Myra), and Cathy Edwards (Jody); grandchildren, Thad Bridgers (Lauren), Tyler Edwards (Madison), Anna Bridgers and fiancé, Landon Hux; great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae Bridgers and Bennett Edwards; and sister, Pat Turner.

A graveside service to celebrate Hambone’s life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Kenly Cemetery with Pastor Kelly Smart and Pastor Duane Eakes presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the service as well as at Hambone’s residence.
