Dunn, NC: Mrs. Frances Ann Wheeler Horne, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. Graveside Services will be Saturday, December 30 at 2:00PM at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Rev. Howard Dudley will officiate.
Mrs. Horne was born on November 30, 1939 in Franklin County, NC to the late Rhyland and Mabel Beddingfield Wheeler. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John Lassiter Horne, and her son, Glenn Pearson Horne. She attended Cary High School and Campbell University and was employed by Durham Life Insurance Company, First Citizens Bank and Trust Company and retired from the State of North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts.
Survivors include her sons, Greg Horne and wife, Connie and Gary Horne and wife, Krystal; grandchildren, Rhyne Horne, Brit Horne, Jarrett Horne, Tryon Horne and Rhyleigh Horne along with several great grandchildren; sister, Linda Hayes and husband Gerald of Dunn; nieces, Heather Hayes Williams and husband, Dr. Michael Williams, Allison Hayes Taylor and Ryan Taylor, Parrish Hayes Daughtry and Larry Daughtry; great nieces and great nephews, Bailey Hayes Williams, Daughtry Reid Williams, Matthew Reid Taylor, Lauren Grace Taylor, Carter Whitfield Daughtry, Reece Wilton Daughtry and Kole William Daughtry.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Dunn – Columbarium and Prayer Garden Fund, 901 North Park Avenue, Dunn, NC 28334.
