Franklin Dewayne Maynor

Franklin Dewayne Maynor, age 73 of Dunn, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, after an illness.

He was born on January 1, 1953, in Cumberland County to his parents, the late Frank Joseph Maynor and Esther Maynor.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Prudence Maynor.

Survivors include his twin sons, Joseph Maynor and Joshua Maynor of Zebulon; Sisters Henrietta Maynor and Helen McCown of Dunn. Two nephews, two great nephews, one great-great nephew, four nieces, and lots of cousins.

Franklin worked in construction all of his life and was a talented wood-worker, often making cabinets for churches, school gyms and more. His favorite hobby was drawing, sketching, and woodworking.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Redemption Outreach Center on Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2026, at 2pm located at 1934 US 301 South, in Dunn, NC 28229. Pastor Shane Kelly and Pastor Stoney Chance will officiate.

Franlkin’s family would like to extend special thanks to his nurse, Heather Lambert, his CNA nicknamed “Baby”, and the staff of the Carollton Center of Dunn for providing excellent and special care to him.
