Smithfield-Gary “Kurt” Curtiss Grady, age 77, died on December 26, 2021 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on December 21, 1944, he was the son of the late James Grady and Selma Lee Creech Grady.
Gary attended West Calvary Free Will Baptist church in Smithfield and was a retired painter for the Johnston County School District. He enjoyed farming in his free time as well as boating and skiing. Gary was a part of the Brogden Ski team, and also played the bass guitar for his band “The County Travelers” in his earlier years.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 PM just prior to the service.
Gary is survived by many loving cousins, dear friends, and neighbors.
