Benson, NC: Mrs. Geneva Mae Duncan McLamb, age 80, of Benson passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Springbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation. Memorial Service will be held-6:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Benson Church of God. Officiating will be Revs. Daniel Taylor and Randy Beasley.
Mrs. McLamb was born on January 24, 1943 to the late Jesmond Claude and Mary Catherine Devinny Duncan. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Moore; son, Jerry Moore, Jr.; brother, Claude Duncan; great grandson, Greyson Moore; and great granddaughter, Aubrey Blackman.
Mrs. Moore worked in textiles prior to her retirement and then worked for Pat’s Gas and Grocery for many years. She could be described as being a “pistol” who took life head on and was a proud breast cancer survivor. She will be remembered as a loving, funny, and genuine Mama, Granny, Great Granny, Aunt, and Friend.
Surviving includes her daughters, Deedee McLamb and husband, Tracy and Tammy Taylor and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Christopher Moore, Johnny Guerrero, Jr., Nicole Pope, Jonathan Blackman, Jeret Blackman, Luke Guerrero, Cathy Jo McLendon, Brody Moore, McKenzie Moore, Eric McLamb, and Quentin McLamb; great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Kylie, Jon, Jackson, Brayden, Cassidy, Lila, Scarlett, Hudson, Adaline, Ava, Cayden, Owen, Lawson, and Gabe; sister, Cathy Duncan; brother, James Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Cardinal Hospice and to Gloria McLamb for all their love and support given.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family will be receiving friends at the home of Deedee and Tracy McLamb at 60 Country Meadow Lane Dunn, NC 28334.
