George Clifford Uzzle III

George Clifford Uzzle, III, 85, of Wilson’s Mills, NC passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2025, with his loyal wife of 57 years by his side. Clifford was born April 12, 1940, to the late George Clifford Uzzle Jr and Ruth Gordon Uzzle of Wilson’s Mills, NC.
After graduating from Wilson’s Mills High School, Clifford would set his many accomplishments in place by continuing his education at Oak Ridge Military Academy and Atlantic Christian College before serving in the Army with the 50th Signal Battalion, where he earned his airborne qualification. He was a member of the Wilson’s Mills Christian Church and Loyal Order of Moose.
Clifford was committed to being an active member of his community, often volunteering and getting involved in local politics. He played a key role in the establishment of the Wilson’s Mills Fire Department; a contribution he was proud of that continues to benefit his community. He lived a happy and rewarding life, with appreciation of the land and a love for hunting and fishing.
His life’s work was rooted in his family farm where he dedicated his time to caring for the land he loved. He is preceded in death by his sister, Phereba Johnson; and his nephew Steve Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bostic Uzzle; daughter, Meta Bartley (Stephen); son, George Clifford Uzzle IV; grandchildren, William and Elizabeth Bartley; his sister, Ruth Stanley (Roger); nieces, Emily and Anna Rustin; nephew, Lee Stanley; and aunt, Josephine Howard (Emory).
Friends and family may pay respects to Clifford on Wednesday, November 26th, from 11:00am until 5:00pm at Parrish Funeral Home.
The family will hold a private graveside service on Friday, November 28, 2025.
