Selma – Gloria Jean Todd Byrd, age 80, passed away on Sunday March 20, 2022 at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehab in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on February 4, 1942 to the late James McCoy Todd and Iola Mae Kennedy Todd. In addition to her mother and father she is also preceded in death by husband, James Billy Byrd; sister, Mildred Johnson.
A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Thursday March 24, 2022 at 11 AM. Burial will follow the service in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 AM to 11 AM.
Ms. Byrd is survived by son, Gary Byrd and wife Lori of Selma; brother, James Todd of Stedman; sister, Pearl Coats of Pine Level; grandchildren, Jessica Collings and husband Thomas of Meadow, Caleb Byrd and Fiancé Jenna Smith of Winterville; great granddaughter, Lily Ann Collings.
Ms. Byrd was a former member of Lanwood Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gospel music concerts and vacationing in the mountains.
