Harvey Junior Theodore Watkins

Harvey Junior Theodore Watkins, 39, passed away peacefully at his home in Kenly on Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 1, 1986, in Wayne County.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Harvey Brooks, Mary Louise Brooks, Carl Junior Watkins, and Ellen Louise Watkins; as well as his aunts and uncles, Brenda Neves, John Neves, Donald Watkins, and Debbie Watkins.
Harvey was a man of strong faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved life and lived it to the fullest, embracing every opportunity to create memories. He enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to visit many places, and he also found joy in spending time at casinos. Above all, Harvey deeply loved his family and friends and was fiercely protective of those he held dear. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Guests are kindly asked to wear bright and cheerful attire in honor of Harvey’s vibrant spirit. The family will also receive visitors at the home after funeral services.
He is survived by his father, Rex Watkins (Karen); his mother, Dianne Brooks (Mike); and his sister, Angie Watkins. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, whom he considered his own children: Jared Sande (Hannah), Madison Sande, and Chloey Sande (Seth). In addition, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends including; Scotty Johnson, Kelvin McArtan, Andy Pilkington, Chris Diehl, Kurt Wood, Dennis Phillips, Cameron Johnson, Mikey Ryan, Robbie Massengill and Grayson Shoulars.
