Benson, NC: Mrs. Iris McLeod Barefoot, age 62, of Byrdtown Road passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church in Benson. Revs. Steven Campbell and Jerome Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in Red Hill PFWB Church Cemetery in Coats, NC.
Mrs. Barefoot was born on August 19, 1959 in Harnett County to the late Oliver and Margie McLeod. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Riddle. Mrs. Barefoot worked at Champion in Dunn with textiles.
Surviving is her husband, Douglas Barefoot of Benson; son, Ben Barefoot and wife, Natalie of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Zoey and Blake Barefoot; sisters, Jenny West and husband, Phil of Erwin, Peggy Smith and husband, Fred of Asheboro; brothers, Gary McLeod and wife, Jackie of Benson, Don McLeod and wife, Susie of Dunn, Glenn McLeod and wife, Sherry of Coats; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 1:45PM to 2:45PM at Beulah Baptist Church prior to the service.
In accordance with the NC COVID 19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines. Masks are not required for all services but highly suggested.
