Jacqueline Wall Jones

Jacqueline “Jackie” Wall Jones passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Jackie was born September 2, 1942, to Ernest and Annie Belle Rhodes Wall. After graduating from Smithfield High School, Jackie attended Hardbarger’s Business College. Jackie married James R. Jones, Jr. on January 19, 1964. Jackie worked for a short time at First Citizens Bank. After her first child, Amanda was born, she whole-heartedly devoted herself to her family. Once all three of her daughters were in school, she worked several different jobs, but her family was always her highest priority. She used her many different skill sets in her jobs as book keeper and administrative assistant for Castleberry Oil and Pippin Mobile Homes. Jackie loved growing flowers and creating beautiful floral arrangements for others to enjoy. She used her bookkeeping and floral artistry skills at Bolton’s Flower Shop for many years, Cyn Mar, and Hank’s Florist in Smithfield. All that Jackie did in life flowed from her deep faith in Jesus Christ. She was raised at Pisgah Baptist Church. Jackie and Jimmy were members of Sharon Baptist Church for many years, where Jackie was a true servant leader. She served as Women’s Missionary Union president and was an ordained Deacon. She, Jimmy and other members of Sharon went on many week-long mission trips, putting their faith in action. Jackie continued her life of service at First Baptist Smithfield, where she used her gifts to help with beautiful and meaningful floral and Lenten displays, as well as cooking for Wednesday night meals and her Sunday School class. Jackie’s greatest joy was her family and she was the steady, firm, loving rock and guide for them. She was totally and selflessly devoted to her husband of almost 62 years, her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Doug Wall, Lynwood Wall, Janet Wall Brown and Susan Wall Austin.
She is survived by her husband James “Jimmy” Jones; daughters Amanda Jones Howell, Karen Jones Breedlove and husband Keith, Betty Jo Jones Corbett and husband Timmy.
