James Andrew “Gordon” Wilson

James Andrew “Gordon” Wilson, 71, of Smithfield passed away on December 8, 2025.

Mr. Wilson was born on January 29, 1954 in England, son of the late Dr. Ian and Janet Wilson.

For most of his working years he was manager of a local ABC store. He was passionate about skydiving in his younger years and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He always had dogs and he loved them dearly.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Erica Wilson of Smithfield; His brother, Graham Wilson of Cary; his sister Anita Starnes of Wendell; his granddaughter, Kayla Creech of Smithfield; and his great grandson, Colbie Creech of Smithfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda Wilson and his sister, Margaret.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Underwood Funeral Home in Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 1PM until 2 PM prior to the service.
