James Charles Godwin

Smithfield, NC: Mr. James Charles Godwin, age 52, of Short Journey Road passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Godwin was born on August 31, 1973 in Harnett County to the late, James W. and Elizabeth Anne Moore Godwin. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kobe Godwin. Mr. Godwin was an automotive mechanic. He loved to fish, both freshwater and saltwater, and loved to grill. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving includes sons, James Tyler Godwin and Lawson Godwin; brothers, John Godwin and wife, Renee and Jason Godwin; friend, Laura Hill; and stepsons, Ricky Hill and Josh Brown.
