James Edward Strickland, Jr.

James “Jimmy” (Cuz) Edward Strickland, Jr., age 65, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his home in Selma. Born in Johnston County on January 5, 1961, he was the son of Rachel Talton and the late James Edward Strickland, Sr. Jimmy was preceded in death by his stepfather, Billy Ray Talton, and his stepsister, Mickie Dickenson.

Jimmy enjoyed collecting arrowheads and had a deep love for animals and the outdoors. He was an electrician by trade and was known by many as one of the best around.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Selma Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dennis Pollock officiating.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Tina Strickland; his mother, Rachel Talton; stepsister, Vickie Oeters and husband, Chris; niece, Blake Oeters; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Gomez and wife Esther, and Jamie Dickenson; aunts and uncles, Albert Radford, Duke Radford, Phil Radford, and Susie Allen; along with many beloved cousins and friends.
