James “Jim” Ray Stewart

Clayton, NC: Mr. James Ray “Jim” Stewart, age 80, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:15AM-11:30AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30AM in the Funeral Chapel. Rev. Charles Petit will officiate. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Stewart was born on May 24, 1945, in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Rev. Hartwell Ray Stewart and Della Grace Wilson Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a retired Cemetery Counselor with Pinecrest Memorial Park, and Knollwood Cemetery in Clayton, NC. He was a member of Lanwood Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Smithfield, NC. His greatest joys were his family, traveling, and working.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sandra Martin Stewart, brother, David Wilson Stewart; son, Jim David Worley and wife, Asha; grandchildren, Brandon and Paul; several nieces and nephews of the Stewart Family in South Carolina and the Wilson Family in North Carolina.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Lanwood Chapel Free Will Baptist Church 3056 Buffalo Road, Smithfield, NC 27577, or to the SECU Hospice House PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
