James “Jimmy” Paul Edwards

Mr. James “Jimmy” Paul Edwards Jr, age 82, passed away on August 18, 2026 at his home in Four Oaks, NC surrounded by his family. He was born in Durham County on August 24, 1943. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Paul Edwards Sr. and Bernice Dodd Edwards.

Mr. Edwards had a deep passion for his construction company, JP Edwards Inc, and serving Johnston County. He also enjoyed spending time at Reedy Creek golf course, which he built and owned. He had a great love for his family and friends and the precious time that he spent with them, as well as deep sea fishing. He enjoyed attending the sports activities of his grandchildren, family get togethers as well as tailgating at NC State football games.

The family will receive family and friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The service will follow the visitation in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday at 3:00 PM. Entombment will follow service in Sunset Memorial Park.

He leaves to cherish his sweet and loving memories, his loving wife of 62 years, Mrs. Sandra Edwards, of the home, his sons, Ken Edwards (Tracy) of Wake Forest, NC and Stevie Edwards (Cindy) of Four Oaks, NC; his only sister, Carolyn Whitley (Howard), of Smithfield, NC; his grandchildren, Austin Edwards, Avery Edwards (Madison), Ben Edwards (Hannah), Lainey Edwards; one great- grandchild, Saxon.

Mr. Edwards leaves a host of nieces and nephews to continue to cherish his memory. The family would like to thank all of the care givers that cared for Mr. Edwards in his final months.
