Smithfield, NC: Mr. James Leslie Corbett, age 66, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at East Carolina Medical Center in Greenville, NC surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Corbett will lie in state from 9:00AM to 2:45PM Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and the family will not be present. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Sunday, June 7, 2026 in the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks, NC. A Private Committal Service will follow the funeral service.

Mr. Corbett was born in Johnston County, NC, on October 1, 1959 to the late David Earl and Emma Eloise Lawhon Corbett. He was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Earl Corbett; and his best friend, Muffin. Mr. Corbett was the owner and operator of James L. Corbett Trucking, Inc., Corbett Sand Co., and Turkey Quarter Campground. Even though Mr. Corbett was a hardworking man, he enjoyed the simple things of life such as family and friends. You could find him in his down time fishing, loving on his dogs, and spending time at the campground. Mr. Corbett entertained his friends by cooking and with his sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Debra Corbett; children, Earl Corbett and wife, Amy, Sahil Patel, and Scott Corbett; grandchildren, Skylar, Spencer, and Layla.
