James Sidney “Jimmy” Davis of Raleigh, NC died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Jimmy was born August 6, 1948 to the late Sidney Parks and Martha Coley Davis of Micro, NC.
He graduated from North Johnston High School 1966 and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1970. He served in the United States Air Force. Jimmy retired from the NC Department of Crime Control and Public Safety and was a recipient of The Order of the Long Leaf Pine. He was very active before his health started failing and loved to travel to the beach and the mountains of NC.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2022 in the Eureka Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Langley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Jimmy is survived by his brother, Jerry Davis and his wife Jessica, whom he loved like a sister; two nephews, Brian Davis and his wife Christy of Clayton and Blake Davis and his wife Laura of Wendell; three great nephews, Caden, Braden and Leeam Davis and a great niece Carlee Davis.
