James Thomas Braswell

Selma— James Thomas Braswell, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at his home in Selma following a short illness. Born April 18, 1933, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Jimmy Jacob and Nellie Parnell Braswell. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Doris Capps Braswell; his brother, Cecil Braswell; his sister, Doris Holloman; and an infant brother.

Thomas was a retired certified welder who worked for many years at The Aeroglide Corporation. In his earlier years, he was an avid Beagle handler and rabbit hunter. Raised on a farm, Thomas learned the value of hard work and many other important life lessons. Prior to the decline of his health, he and his beloved wife, Doris, took great pride in maintaining a large vegetable garden.

he family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow in Price Cemetery.

Thomas is survived by his son, Tommy Braswell of Selma; his daughter, Debra Braswell Stanley and husband, Robert; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
