Selma – James (Tynce) Edward Corbett, age 84, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Born, November 10, 1938, in Johnston County he was a son of the late Arthur and Triencie Corbett. He is preceded in death by his siblings; Billy Corbett, Bobby Corbett, Pauline Creech, Hazel Batten, Mildred Creech and Marjorie Corbett.
He retired as a supervisor, working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Tynce enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing cards, working in his yard and sitting in his back-porch swing. He was a loving daddy, pa, uncle, brother and friend. He will be missed by all of his loved ones.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Selma. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12 ,2023, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
He is survived by his son, James Alan Corbett, daughter, Crystal Corbett Klein (Gregory); grandchildren, James Evan Corbett and Emily Corbett and Ely Shipp, as well as his partner for over twenty years, Mary Gwen Beasley. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
