James Wilson Stancil

Pine Level – James Wilson Stancil, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 16, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on July 26, 1943 to the late William Jasper Stancil and Lola Pierce Stancil. In addition to his father and mother he is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Margaret Stancil; brothers, Harold and Kenneth Bowen.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family will be receiving visitors at different times at the home of his daughter at 101 Pondfield Court, Clayton, NC 27527.

James is survived by his wife, Eloise Stancil of Pine Level; daughter Geraldine Blinson (Michael) of Clayton; son, James “Jimmy” Stancil of Fremont.
