Jason Nathaniel Wood

Jason Nathaniel Wood, age 51, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at his home in Selma. Born on July 18, 1975, in Orange County, he was the son of Kathy Dixon Wood and the late Charlie Nathaniel “Nat” Wood.

In addition to his father, Jason was preceded in death by his uncles, James Dixon, Morris Dixon, Bobby Wood, and Newitt Lee; his aunts, Linda Parrish, Hilda Futch and her husband, Charles, Diane Dixon Moody, and Shirley Lee; and his grandparents, Bud and Ida Dixon and Maude and Ernest Ward.

Jason dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed researching and preserving his family’s history. He valued the relationships he built throughout his life, and once you became his friend, you remained his friend for life. Known for his kind and generous heart, Jason was always willing to help others and will be remembered for the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:15 a.m. at Price Cemetery in Selma. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Parrish Funeral Home.

Jason is survived by his mother, Kathy Dixon Wood; his son, Joseph Thomas Rocha; his aunts, Sandra K. Dixon and Joyce Wood; his uncle, Robert Dixon and wife, Kaye; and numerous beloved cousins.
