Jeffery Alan Reed, 64, of Fuquay Varena, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October27, 2024. Born on September 12, 1960, in Huntington, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Blair Alan Reed and Donna Lee (Dunn) Reed. Jeffery spent his early years in Saxton Pennsylvania, before moving with his family to Camp Hill in 1964. He graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1978.
Following his graduation, Jeffery enlisted in the United States Navy, where he demonstrated his commitment to service and excellence. He completed Basic Training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and went on to become an Electronics Technician, serving aboard the USS Holland (AS-32) in Scotland and later the USS Kamehameha (SSBN-642). During his time on the USS Kamehameha, he earned his Submarine Warfare qualifications and completed two Deterrent Patrols. After ten years of dedicated service, he concluded his naval career as an Electronics Technician First Class (Submarine Warfare) while serving as an instructor at Dam Neck, Virginia.
After his military service, Jeffery loyally contributed over 36 years to Siemens Healthcare, particularly within the Siemens Healthcare Imaging Team, first in New Jersey and later at the Siemens Healthineers Training Center in Cary, North Carolina.
Jeffery is survived by his loving wife Epi Dominguez of Fuquay Varina; his brother William (Amy) of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania; his sister Ami Gelbaugh (Daniel) of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A lifelong learner, Jeffery embraced various hobbies throughout his life, including reading, music, computer science, woodworking, sailing, camping, rock climbing, bicycling, and scuba diving during his time in San Diego. He took immense joy in the company of his family, friends, and his beloved dog Smokey, along with the many furry companions that came before him.
Jeffery Alan Reed will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
