Jeffrey Keith Hooks, 63, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at UNC Johnston Healthcare in Smithfield. Born in Wilson County on February 18, 1961, he was the son of Jimmy and Cindy Hooks.
In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Hooks; children, Robin Mitchell (Jeremy Spivey) and Steven Coley (Daime); grandchildren, Ayden Escobar and McKinsley Spivey; sister, Kim Peeden (Eddie); and nephew, Austin Peeden (Cassidy).
For many years, Jeff worked as an autobody technician with Deacon Jones Automotive Group. He had a love and knowledge of cars and trucks that was unmatched. Even while at home, Jeff could be seen out working on his trucks, building them as big as he possibly could. Jeff could often be found in front of the television watching the NASCAR race or any UNC ballgame. Jeff felt most comfortable while in the mountains. Visiting the cool mountain air is something Jeff would always make time for each year.
A service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Internment will follow at Kenly Cemetery.
