Jennifer “Joanne” Thomas Barefoot

Dunn, NC: Mrs. Jennifer “Joanne” Thomas Barefoot, age 76, of Godwin Lake Road passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM-12:45PM-Friday, April 3, 2026 at Beulah Baptist Church in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00PM at Beulah Baptist Church in Benson. Rev. Steven Campbell will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington, NC.

Mrs. Barefoot was born on May 18, 1949 in Harnett County, NC, to the late Lillie Dale Thomas. She was a retired teacher’s assistant for special needs children and a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was her family. She will always be remembered for her playfulness and her willingness to help anyone in need.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, John Barefoot; children, Sherry Barefoot (Patrick Brooks), Brian Barefoot (Crystal), Anthony “Tony” Barefoot (Heather), and Amy Moore (Jeff); grandchildren, Seth Barefoot, Hansen Barefoot, Matthew Moore (Christina), Jacob Moore, John David Barefoot, Haley Barefoot, Dylan Honeycutt (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jaxon, Norah, Kinsley, Cayden, Wesley, Westin, Julia, Parker Ruth, Luke, Ella Kate, Olivia, and Hazel Ruth; sister, Patricia “Patsy” Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.
