Benson, NC: Mr. Jeremy Shane Parker, age 52, of Benson, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023 at UNC Hospital at Chapel Hill surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Friday, June 16, 2023 at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, Benson, NC. Rev. John Foister will officiate. Burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery in Benson.
Shane was born on June 23, 1970 in Johnston County, NC to Faye Dawson Parker and to the late Charles Pierce Parker. He worked at the Auto Zone in Dunn, NC. He delivered car parts to different towns, prior to his disability. Shane was always interested in cars and parts. He belonged to a local car club and loved to redesign Hot Wheels cars. He took stock Hot Wheels cars and customized them to look like his customers’ full-sized vehicles. He enjoyed going to car shows; his son Pierson, loved to go with him. He taught his son a lot about cars, and he was a great handy man.
Survivors include his mother, Faye Dawson Parker; his son, Shane Pierson Parker of Benson; brother, Charles Gary Parker and wife, Leslie of Hanover, Maryland; sister, Pamela Parker Martin and husband, Emmett of Benson; he is also survived by two nephews, Christopher Byrd and wife, Cassie of Duffield, Virginia and Restyn Martin of Benson, NC; four nieces, Ashley Barbour Hoempler and her husband, Christian of Aberdeen, NC, Tracy Parker Hudson and her husband, Wesley of Clayton, NC and Tarah Parker Alexander and her husband, Terry of La Vista, NE and Adrienne Rieken-Cote and her husband, Timothy of Severn, Maryland. Shane is also survived by eight great-nephews and one great-niece.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00AM-10:45AM, June 16, 2023, and other times at the home of Faye Dawson Parker, 3111 Beasley Rd., Benson, NC.
