Smithfield, NC: Mrs. Jessie Ellen Hudson Johnson, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends from 5:45PM-6:45PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00PM in the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks, NC.

Mrs. Johnson was born on October 28, 1938, in Johnston County, NC, to the late Allen K. Hudson and Addie Jernigan Hudson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Spottswood Johnson, sisters, Leola Hudson Roberts, and Jean Hudson Beasley, and brothers, Tom Hudson, and Albert Hudson. Mrs. Johnson worked in the sewing department at Lazy Boy. She was also a retired interior decorator, and taught interior decorating. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, bird watching, and reading the Bible.

Surviving include her children, Connie Conyers Webb (Joseph), Grady Laverne Johnson (Ashley), and Brady Laverne Johnson (Shawn); grandson, Trevor Webb; sister, Magdaline Barbour; several nieces and nephews.
