Jewel Jernigan Lee, age 90, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. Born in Johnston County on June 8, 1932, she was a daughter to the late John B. Jernigan and Lucille McLamb Jernigan.
Jewel enjoyed going to church and fishing in her free time. She loved and cared for her three boys dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home, just prior to the service.
Jewel is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Lee; brothers, Carlton B. Jernigan; J.C. Jernigan; Donald Ray Jernigan; sisters, Ellen Bunnels; Eloise Cox; and Janice Lynch.
Jewel is survived by her sons, Robert Wayne Lee and wife Ann of Tarheel; Martin Edward Lee and wife Sue of Smithfield, VA; Charles Haywood Lee of Selma; brother, Edward Jernigan and wife Carol of Benson; sister, Joyce Bain of Lillington; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
