Four Oaks, NC: Mr. John Harold Wise, age 80, of Lakewood Road died Sunday, February 12, 2023, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be 3:00PM Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Revs. Larry Hunt and Robert Smith.
Mr. Wise was born on December 14, 1942 in Sampson County to the late Purdy and Margaret Smith Wise. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gertrude Howard and Janice Smith; brothers, Bruce Wise, Norman Wise, and Bob Wise. Mr. Wise was a US Army Veteran serving three tours of duty during the Vietnam War with the 82nd Airbourne as a Paratrooper. He attended the Wilson Mill’s Church of God.
Surviving include his wife of 43 years, Eva S. Wise; children, Charles Wise and wife, Annette of Dillsboro, NC, Cindy Markham of Pine Level, Angela Morgan of Clayton, Kelly Wilson and husband, Michael of Four Oaks, David S. Jones and wife, Shelby of Four Oaks; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Wise and wife, Patty of Tennessee, James Wise and wife, Nancy of Clayton, NC; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service and other times at the home.
