John Sanford Bombard, 65, of Clayton, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh surrounded by his family. John was born in Malone, New York, on September 5, 1956 to the late Earl and Dorothy Bombard. John graduated from Galway High School in Galway, NY, in 1974. For the past 20 plus years, John has been a resident of Clayton, NC, to be close to his beloved children.
Throughout his life, John worked as a carpenter, building and working on homes everywhere he lived. John was very creative and skilled with his hands and showed great pride in his work and creations. John was a simple man who loved the outdoors and found peace in nature and fishing. John enjoyed playing cards, board games, chess, pool, darts, and horseshoes. Most of all, John enjoyed the quality time spent with the family members and friends who shared in these activities. John displayed a rugged and tough exterior, but below the surface, had a kind and loving heart that only those closest to him were lucky to have known.
John was a very proud father of his children and did all he could to encourage them to live a life of happiness and success. John was very supportive of their activities throughout the years and often assisted on their adventures of sports and scouts.
John is survived by his son, Dylan Bombard of Princeton; daughter, Jasmine Bombard Martinez and husband Alex of Greenville; brothers, Doug Bombard and Mark Bombard; sisters, Kris Hageman and Amy Bombard Kondrat; his dog, Brownie; his grandcats and grandpups; and many more family members and friends.
