Selma – John Terry Green, age 75, passed away Thursday August 8, 2024 at his home in Selma. He was born in Mecklenburg County on August 24, 1948 to the late Loice Terry Green and Beatrice Blackwelder Green.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Monday August 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
He is survived by his sisters, Teresa Sawyer and husband Pat of Hickory, Mary Walker and husband Jay of Taylorsville; nephew, Rob Sawyer and wife Dee of Claremont; niece, Kim Smith and husband Michael of Hickory; special friend, Brenda Mitchell.
Mr. Green proudly served his country for over 25 years in the United States Army. During his service he served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, time in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was a member and secretary for the Vietnam Veterans of Smithfield and enjoyed camping, woodworking, and listening to country music.
