Jonnie Davis Warren

Through our joyful tears, we announce the passing of Jonnie Davis Warren on April 20, 2026, at the age of 92.

Jonnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought joy to everyone around her. Born in Smithfield, NC, she spent her life devoted to her children, her church family, friends, and numerous other children she amassed during her tenure of more than 30 years at North Johnston High School.

Jonnie, fondly remembered as “Mama Warren,” had a deep love for church music, where she was an alto in the choir at Micro Original Free Will Baptist Church. She was one of the original cooks feeding the community at the Hinnant Outreach Center and was locally famous for her sought-after cakes, pies, and desserts. “Miss Jonnie” was the masterful host to numerous Easter Egg Hunts at her home and will always be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and willingness to help those in need.

Jonnie leaves behind her daughter, Wanda Warren, her son and his wife, Jay and Page Warren, her granddaughter and husband, Alexis and Carrington Jones, and two great-grandchildren, Charley and Reid Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jabo Warren, and he certainly kept her life interesting and full of fun!

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center at Micro Original Free Will Baptist Church, with visitation following the service. Graveside service will take place at Micro Memorial Gardens.
