Smithfield, NC: Mr. Joseph E. Parker, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:45AM-11:45AM, Friday, September 13, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC. Graveside Services will be 12:00PM-Friday, September 13, 2024 at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery. Rev. Billy Nowell will officiate.
Mr. Parker was born in Johnston County, NC on December 16, 1933 to the late William Mock and Flonnie Allen Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline Blackmon Parker, and a brother Willie E. Parker. Mr. Parker in his early years of life was a farmer. Following farming he worked for the Gerald Corporation and Sylvania. He loved hunting and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son, Joseph Brian Parker, daughter-in-law, Jessie Brown; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Parker and fiancé, Matthew Pearce, Brianna Parker, Samantha Parker, and Ryleigh Parker; sisters, Mary Ellen Welsh and husband, Paige, Louie McLamb, Ann West and husband, Carlton, and Florie Mae Barbour; brothers, Ira Parker, and Harvey Parker and wife, Betty Rose; several nieces and nephews.
